Stuffed French Toast


  • 8 thick slices of hand cut bread
  • cup of preserves of your choice, strawberry, apricot etc.
  • 6 oz of cream cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • cup of melted butter
  • cup of maple syrup

Slice the top of each piece of bread and fill the opening with 1 Tablespoon of preserves and 1/8 of the cream cheese. Place in a well greased 9x13 glass baking dish. Blend the eggs, milk, butter and syrup together. Pour mixture over the bread and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes and brown on the top. Serve with warmed syrup and preserves.
